ASSIGNMENT

National Resources, an innovator in real estate and investment, tasked Mermaid, Inc. with designing an investor book and overall branding strategy. The objective was to compellingly showcase their expertise in rejuvenating historic buildings and transforming industrial sites into sustainable, distinctive living and working environments.

APPROACH

Our branding approach for National Resources was rooted in their ethos of sustainability and innovation, aiming to create a multisensory brand experience. This vision shaped everything from tactile materials to digital presence, ensuring a cohesive narrative that champions their commitment to a sustainable and innovative future.

Our overall approach to the investor book and branding was to create a sensory journey. We handcrafted the book's covers from reclaimed wood and recycled metal, providing a tactile and visual introduction to the firm's eco-conscious values. The wooden cover gives way to an impactful photo on recycled metal, symbolizing a fusion of tradition with forward-thinking sustainability. The 68-page book, segmented into seven insightful chapters like "Preserving the Old," "Reclaiming the Waterfront," and "Preserving the Future," weaves the narrative of the firm's dedication to heritage, community, and a sustainable future.

This commitment to sustainability and innovation was translated into their website design, where digital storytelling and interactive elements reflect the firm's ethos and projects.

For their collateral materials, we continued this sustainable narrative, selecting eco-friendly materials and designs that resonate with the brand's philosophy. This coherent approach ensures that every brand interaction is an affirmation of their commitment to building a sustainable, vibrant future.

The outside front & back covers are made of recycled wood which is mounted on the brushed alumimum inside front & back covers. The recycled wood gives each cover a unique look. There are 4-color photos printed on the the brushed aluminum inside covers. The 76 text pages are perfect bound with the covers.
